Man's best friend is known to be the dog. Which is quite true in our home. However, dog's best friend is the dog across the street, Noah.
Holly, our dog, watches the windows. Sometimes she barks, or "comments" on the people and dogs walking past. And on bad days the ducks and black birds also get a greeting. But one day she reacted completely different. She came running in from the window, first to Duncan, then to me. Jumping up and down, tale wagging, ears up, happy barking. Both of us followed bewildered - what on earth had the barmy dog found?
When we came to the window we saw Noah and his owner walking along the path outside our window. The dog had seen her friend outside and wanted to go and play!
Today it happened again, except this time she was out on the balcony, and I swear that if she'd been tall enough to jump over the fence and two floors down she would've. And if Noah (who's a sausage dog/gravhund) had wings, he would've flown up to play with her.
What could we do, except take the little creature down to play with her little mate?
They both enjoyed it - that's obvious for anyone to see. Like two little kinder garten children they roll around, play tig and chase each other round and round. And when they get tired, they lie down together, tongues out, enjoying each other just being there.

Who doesn't need a friend like that?!

Og by the way - hvem vil ikke være ven med en gravhund :-)
    Guds fred og alt godt
