Memory of Eden
I believe we all have a memory of Eden. A touch of Paradise in side. A recollection of how it was meant to be. And it is this memory, this knowledge that makes us react to injustices and meaninglessness. That is why we cry out "why?!" with pain, sorrow and grief. It is because we know we are meant for eternity that we are angered, filled with sorrow and un-knowing when a life is taken - too soon.
I believe we were made for eternity. You and I are meant to live forever. Our lives are not meant to be short, our being was not created as a short interlude. I believe we are made for relationships and love - the everlasting kind. I believe that God is love, and I believe that we are made in his image. And since we are made in his image, we too have the longing for eternity.
And I believe, that as we cry out with pain and grief, so does God. "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matt. 26-28) Because this was not how he intended it to be. I believe that he wants to restore us to eternity. I believe that life eternal is ours to have. And I believe the offer is for all!
